Before Travel

Ticket cancellation due to hospitalization

You will receive a full refund of ticket value if you cancel the journey due to sickness/injury followed by a hospitalization.

Trip Delay Coverage

A trip delay cover will provide you reimbursement for additional transportation costs or additional expenses for meals and lodging should your flight be delayed due to weather or other covered reasons.

Loss of Passport Coverage

In the case of a lost passport, all costs incurred obtaining emergency travel documents will be covered.

Delayed and Lost Baggage Protection

Expenses incurred when waiting for baggage or trying to find a lost baggage will be covered.

Medical Cover

In the event of an unforeseen illness or injury of you or a travelling companion that is unfit to travel. The hospital bills and other expenses will be covered.

Before Travel

Ticket cancellation due to hospitalization
  1. Doctors note stating you (or any other passenger in the booking) are unable to fly on specified travel dates
  2. Hospital admission or discharge form stating you (or any other passenger in the booking) are unable to fly on specified travel dates
  3. Cancellation request of the traveler.
  4. Copy of the passport
  5. Mode of payment (proof document will be available for the refund)
  6. IATA report with ticket no & name of the traveler
  7. Hospitalization bill & diagnosis card
Visa Rejection
  1. Visa denied notification from the embassy (This notification must be sent to Findmyfare within 7 working days of receipt of denied notification.)

Just as you have home or car insurance, travel insurance is no different, by protecting the investment you make in travel plans. Trip cancellation coverage gives cash back for prepaid, nonrefundable payments if you have to cancel your trip for one of the reasons covered by your policy. Some reasons include sudden covered medical emergencies, financial default of a covered airline, cruise line or tour operator, employer termination, terrorist incidents, and jury duty. Some reasons for cancellation aren't covered, such as changing your mind about taking a trip or other things not named in your policy/certificate of insurance. If you cancel your trip for a covered reason, you must notify your travel supplier(s) within 72 hours of the cancellation.

For fastest service, you can cancel your policy by visiting our online policy management tool. For a full refund of your premium, you must cancel within 10 days of your policy purchase or before departure and have not filed a claim or departed on your trip.
  • The insurance cover will be valid from the date of commencement of the trip / date of departure shown under policy copy whichever is later & till the actual date of return / arrival date mentioned on policy whichever is earlier.
  • For Schengen Countries : (If you are traveling to a Schengen Country you have to apply for additional 15 days from return date (Ex: 15 December+ 15 days = 30 December)
  • Travel insurance can be issued for the Age Band of 0 months to 60 years however, if it exceeds 60 years contact our call center (60+ to 80 years)
  • Travel insurance policies could be amended before the passenger departs from Colombo only.
  • Policy amendment is not possible once the passenger utilize the first sector.
  • Pre-existing diseases are excluded from policy.
  • Please do your insurance payment before 72 hours to the departure.
  • Travel Insurance payments are non-refundable.

Ticket cancellation due to hospitalization

  • The product must be purchased at the time of booking your ticket. It is not possible to add it afterwards.
  • The product is only valid for flights cancelled before outbound travel has commenced. You will not be covered if you wish to cancel a flight during your journey, or after a flight has already departure.
  • We also need proof of relation (in the form of a certified affidavit) should the last name of the traveler not correspond with the ill person.
  • To qualify for the refund of airfare, the refund needs to be requested at least 24 hours prior to departure.
  • Should you be refunded, we will only refund the airfare. We will not refund any extra costs from your booking.
  • Please note that processing time of your refund may take up to 6 – 8 weeks.
  • This service does not cover airline cancellation, liquidation / suspension, car or hotel reservations.
  • To qualify for the full refund of airfare and taxes due to medical cancellation, official proof (in the form of at least one required document listed below) must be provided to Findmyfare within a week of cancellation.

Visa Rejection

  • Booking should be have been made for an international return flight with findmyfare.
  • Should be a Sri Lankan passport holder applying for a tourist visa. This service is not valid for business visa applicants, immigration, working holiday etc.
  • Do not have a criminal record.
  • Have not been denied entrance into a country before.
  • Sri Lankan passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your return and have at least 2 adjacent pages for your visa stamp.
  • Ensure you have enough time to apply for a visa (as given in guidelines by the embassy).
  • Visa application should have been submitted to the embassy or application center within the correct time frame as stipulated by them.
  • Should submit correct documentation as per the embassy/consulate when applying visa.
  • The visa rejection service must be purchased at time of booking/payment and can only be purchased up to 14 days prior to departure.
  • The visa rejection claim will not be paid out if the embassy rejects the application due to:
    • Insufficient time to process the visa
    • Incorrect, falsified or missing documentation
    • Insufficient funds
    • Existence of a criminal record
    • A history of being deported or being denied entry into a country
    • Expiry date of passport falling within 6 months after return date
    • No blank pages available in passpor.
    • Incorrect, falsified or missing documentation provided by the sponsor
    • Cancellation request of the traveler
    • Copy of the passport
    • Mode of payment (proof document will be available for the refund)
    • IATA report with ticket no & name of the traveler
  • It is the responsibility of the passenger to make enquiries into the visa regulations for each country and to lodge the visa application with the respective embassies
  • The claim is paid out upon submission of a visa denied notification from the embassy – this notification must be sent to Findmyfare within 7 working days of receipt of denied notification
